Proton (XPR) is a new public blockchain and smart contract platform created for both consumer applications and person-to-person payments. This is one of my favorite blockchains along with Avalanche (AVAX). Proton was created by two companies Metal and Lynx. These companies have a shared vision of creating a world where cryptocurrency is easily accessible to everyone.
In America, people use Venmo, Cash App, or Apple Pay to send peer-to-peer payments. One of the biggest problems with this is that everyone has a different preference. For example, Venmo users can’t send money to Apple Pay users. Proton will solve this problem by creating a namespace that works across multiple payment providers, identity verifiers, and payment transmitters. Not to mention, outside of being an app platform with a unified identity model, the new XPR blockchain was designed to allow websites and apps to push payment requests directly to Proton-compliant wallets. All transactions are recorded obviously on the XPR blockchain, every user on this blockchain can have a verified identity, which is in turn verified by an approved identity provider.

Future of Proton
XPR has a very fast blockchain that will be able to confirm transactions in seconds. This will be very beneficial for online games or sending people cryptocurrency. The cost of using the blockchain is very low, users will never experience outrageous gas fees unlike other blockchains like Ethereum. The XPR wallet is one of the best hot wallets I’ve ever experienced. People across the world will be able to use this wallet flawlessly. It can be downloaded from the Google or Apple Store. The XPR wallet also allows users to stake XPR for daily, monthly, and yearly APYs. The staking process is explained further here. I highly suggest using this wallet for several reasons. Proton is the first super-fast, cheap blockchain with Know Your Customer and fiat-crypto built-in. XPR’s NFT store has a lot of potentials! I don’t think OpenSea will be affordable for the masses. My favorite NFT collection can be found here. The future of this blockchain is very exciting and I expect this cryptocurrency to be well known in the next decade.
