Trust Wallet is a hot wallet that was created for people to be able to accrue, send, receive, and stake cryptocurrencies using a smartphone device or computer. Trust Wallet was created in 2017 and has quickly grown to one of the well-known hot wallets in the cryptocurrency space. Binance the biggest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world bought Trust Wallet in 2018. If you don’t understand that difference between a hot or a cold wallet you can read my blog about different wallets here.  Many people have heard about Metamask, Trust Wallet is very similar to Metamask but both applications have slightly different features. Trust Wallet supports a multitude of cryptocurrencies and NFTs on several blockchains, including Bitcoin, the Ethereum Main blockchain, and the BNB Chain.

The key feature of Trust Wallet is its flexibility across blockchains. People can send and receive Bitcoin, Ethereum-based coins and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and cryptocurrency and NFTs on the BNB Chain (formerly known as the Binance Smart Chain). As a result, the wallet supports over 10,000 tokens, while allowing users to purchase many different cryptocurrencies through third-party providers lMercuryo, MoonPay, Ramp Network, Simplex, Transak, and Wyre.

Trust Wallet also allows users to earn interest on their cryptocurrency by staking directly from their wallet. Currently, 12 tokens are available for staking, including BNB, Cosmos, and Tezos. New users can also migrate their current wallets to Trust Wallet. Those who have accounts with MetaMask or MyEtherWallet can backup and import wallets using their secret recovery phrase, keystore file, or private key, or import using a public key to see the balance in a wallet. Please remember that most wallets that produce a seed phrase can be implemented on other hot or cold applications. For example, if you create a hot wallet on Metamask if you remember the seed phrase associated with that wallet you will be able to load that wallet on Trust Wallet or Coinbase Wallet.

Metamask and Trust Wallet are decentralized applications giving users the freedom of not sharing personally identifiable information with the company. Sending and receiving cryptocurrency using Trust Wallet is pseudonymous. Each wallet is secured by a 12-word secret phrase and accessible on mobile devices and computers.  There isn’t a customer service department associated with Trust Wallet, please be advised that wallets can only be recovered using the 12-word seed phrase given to users when the account is created.
